Upcoming Classes In Salt Lake City Next Week!

I will be flying up to Salt Lake City this week to visit my amazing parents and starting this upcoming Saturday, begin teaching some hands on cooking classes at
Gygi's Culinary Institute. If you have the chance to be there, I would love to meet you and help you feel more confident in the kitchen. There are a few openings left. That being said, I will try to add a few more blog entries before I leave. Hopefully I can do it all...but if not, just know I am human. Smoooches to all of you my sweet friends! Mixer-less Artisan Breads

You have never baked bread until you have made it into a work of art. Join Chef Stephanie Petersen, internationally published bread baking coach, as she takes us through the art of transforming dough into Lyon Style sunflowers, Braided loaves, and an amazing bread painting technique. You will be not only shocked at the simplicity of the technique but also the versatility it can add to you artistic breads. If you love art and you love bread, This is the class for you!


Session is 2 hours and include 2 loaves of beautiful bread to take home. It is a totally hands on baking experience.

Sculpted Flowers
What distinguishes a mediocre cake baker from a pastry chef? Usually it is the flowers! Hand sculpted flowers are a very advanced technique that take a little practice and know how. People are willing to pay more for wedding and specialty cakes ornately decorated with these hand sculpted beauties. You'll see why! This is a class well worth the investment. Marzipan and modeling chocolate roses, leaves and vines are one of the most distinguished skills you can learn as a baker, and we have an instructor up to the challenge. Chef Stephanie Petersen will be here for one last class. Join us for a very unique advanced pastry instruction that will take the guess work out of rose sculpting like the professionals do. Hands on loving support will be there along the way.

Join Me For a Jam Session
Have you ever wondered how to make Jam and sweet spreads like your grandma used to do, but worry about basic sanitation? Improperly canned jams and fruit spreads can make your family very ill. That's the last thing you want when trying to provide them with something wonderful. Come to a Jam Session with Chef Stephanie Petersen where we will make jam hands on, with very informative and specific instructions that will take your confidence in your canning to a whole new level. Stephanie adds amazing flavor ideas and subtle changes to basic fruit jam that will have your friend and family begging for more and more. Plus, we will do it safely. Hands on class includes 3 jars of classically prepared jam, personal loving instruction, and a load of laughs from a zany fun instructor. Don't miss it!
